Omid Sharifi, Director of Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Tourism and Motoring Center, announced this news and said: This project is in line with the realization of the goals of the 13th government's "expectation document" regarding "transformational priorities in the field of tourism" and the emphasis of the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. It was done to facilitate the entry of travelers and tourists from other countries by private vehicles to Iran, and in order to achieve it, effective measures have been taken by the Center for Tourism and Motoring in cooperation with other responsible organizations in the last two years.
He added: Since tourism and travel using private vehicles reduces travel costs, increases traffic speed, increases the number of tourists, and also boosts the business of all classes and strata that are active in tourism routes, the plan to streamline and facilitate entry Temporary and transportation of personal vehicles of foreign travelers and tourists to the country has been provided and followed up by the Tourism and Motoring Center. Sharifi listed land travel with personal vehicles as one of the favorite elements and motivations of tourists in the world and stated: This type of travel has gained more fans in the world in recent years. Therefore, facilitating the international traffic of passenger and foreign tourist vehicles can be effective in the field of inbound tourism growth and increasing its share in employment and economic indicators, especially the country's gross domestic product. The spokesperson of the Committee to Facilitate Iran's Land Traffic with Neighboring Countries mentioned the prohibition of foreign vehicles with international license plates in Iran and the requirement to obtain and install temporary license plates as one of the factors that delay and confuse travelers and tourists at the entry borders of our country and clarified: this problem, For many years, it had caused the dissatisfaction of tourists, but fortunately, after the follow-up and coordination of the Tourism and Motoring Center with the authorities and managers of the relevant institutions in the country, with the approval of the Executive Vice President and Head of the Presidential Institution, the issue of vehicles with international number plates being allowed to enter the country, In April 1403, it was notified to all relevant units by Rahor Faraja police chief and implemented.
The Director of Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Tourism and Motoring Center stated: Following the implementation of this project, based on international conventions and the law of Iran's accession to the Road Traffic Convention (1968 Vienna), the temporary entry of passenger motor vehicles and Foreign tourists with international license plates are free to enter Iran and travel within the borders of our country, and only vehicles that intend to enter the country without international license plates will be required to immediately install temporary transit plates at all points of entry into the country.
